A Chilly ride December 6th 2008

A Chilly ride December 6th 2008

My wife Val Friday night mentioned a display of 800 Nativity Scenes at a Mormon Church up in Colleyville that a friend went to yesterday and she thought it was quite cool. Well I am not much into going to this kind of thing, but we have a bunch of Nativity Scenes ourselves and the weather looked promising for Saturday. So being the good husband that I am (he he) I said weather permitting for a ride on the motor cycle I would take her to the display. My wife being a fair weather rider I was thinking I should be able to get out of this gig. But at about noon she is ready adorned in leathers and chaps. My mouth dropped and I called my buddy Philip and he too was up for the venture. So off we go on 183 headed West bound. I was waiting for Val to say it was too cold but she just cuddled up against my back and hung in there. We got to Precinct Line Road and man traffic was a mess. The lights were messed up that Christmas cheer was not some of the words out of our mouths. Well we finally got out of that mess and as we headed north there were less lights and traffic so the past was soon forgotten and the smiles on our faces returned. Nothing like a nice ride in December to put things into perspective.

Here are some shots of the Nativity Scenes, and I must add that the folks at the church were not there trying to push their religion and were very nice and accommodating.

Hard to see is my buddy Phillip.

Here is Val in the big room.

We then rode back towards home and Philip mentioned he needed to get on back home to meet another one of our riding buddies to go to the Trinity Football game. So when we got to 121 and 157 Phillip headed south on 121 and Val and I went down 157. I thought we would stop by the American Legion to give some money to the toys for tot’s deal that was going on and have a cold one. Here are some shots from that.

From there we rode down to Full Bore Cycle to check out there 50% off sale. We did buy some doo rags and other trinkets. After that we stopped at a sea food restaurant and had some dinner and then went home to start a fire and sit back and relax.

Have a Merry Christmas all.
